This is Mo,
I met Mo (Maurice) while filming for our pilot episode a few weeks ago. We stopped and talked to him for quite a while. He informed us that he was actually homeless, still living on the stoop of his now shut down project housing. It closed in 06 but he’s refused to leave in the time that’s passed. He hasn’t paid taxes in 57 years (which coincidentally is his age). He spoke of stories of his days spent living at the projects. he lifts scrap metal for weights everyday. He let us take photos and speak with him for nearly an hour. Mo retains his sanity by being sure to “speak with god” every day. Dude was very positive, considering he has nothing. no family, no worldly possessions. Just a sack on the stoop. Im saving a portrait of him for something special. I just wanted to post something positive in a world otherwise that looks down on 90% of homeless people.
Afterwards we gave him some water in the 95+ degree weather. Needless to say, he drank half of what we gave him…then showered with the rest.

Absolutely inspiring.
